How to Remove Hair with Minimal Pain

How to remove body hair with minimal pain

Waxing can be a source of pain, and something that people come to dread, leading them to submitting to the razor. Using the razor makes you lose all the benefits you’ve built by waxing. This doesn’t have to be the case, as millennia of hair removal experience have found a wealth of ways to remove hair with the minimal amount of pain, which we are glad to share with you here!

      Time it Right

The two things to consider here with making sure you choose the right time for your wax, is whether your hairs are at the right length. If the hair is too short, then the wax won’t have enough to grip – it will pull the skin but not the hair. Also, it might be a painful experience if you have sensitive skin, so make sure you time your waxing accordingly!

      Prepare Yourself

Wax not only pulls out the hair, but pulls off any dead layers of skin left in the area, so it’s a good idea to exfoliate close before – but not too close to the waxing date. The best time is at least 24 hours prior to waxing. Just before you wax, you should take a nice warm bath to open up your pores and follicles. Run a soft loofah over the skin to soften it further. Make sure that your skin is completely dry before you start to wax it – the water can lower the wax’s performance.

      Perfect the Technique

When you begin waxing, first remember to relax. Your reaction to imminent pain will be to tense your body. Then pull the skin taut to give the hairs a smooth exit, and apply the wax. Veet’s wax strips have Easy Grip tabs to make the removal as quick and easy as possible. Grip the tab and pull against the direction of the hair. Rub the area briskly with the palm of your hand if it hurts too much.

      Look after Yourself

After waxing your skin will be sensitive, so you shouldn’t do anything to further irritate it, such as exfoliating. Waxing itself acts as a great exfoliant, so you shouldn’t need to anyway! Further to this, you should avoid exposing the skin to direct heat and strong deodorants. This last is important if you wax your armpits – deodorant applied on waxed skin can darken it.

Alternatively, you could try a different, less invasive hair removal solution such as depilatory creams. These work by dissolving the hairs at the roots, allowing them to be simply washed off with the cream. The effects don’t last quite as long as waxing, but for those with very low pain thresholds, this can be a great alternative.

So follow these steps to get the body you deserve, with minimal discomfort!
